PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be able to draw hidden characters or pictures on a supporting body such as a mug so that they appear on the surface when the body is heated to a prescribed temperature range by hot water or the like, to put a gloss on the pictures and the characters so appearing, and also to give them durability including resistance against detergent, alcohol, warm water, etc. ;SOLUTION: On the surface of at least one thermally discoloring resin layer ('the layer') 2 that is formed on a supporting body 1, characters or pictures are drawn with a coloring composition 3 containing a permeable dye 4, which makes the characters or pictures hidden in the colors at the ordinary temperature of the layer 2 and which permeates and dyes the layer 2 when heated; the hidden characters and pictures in the layer 2 so permeated and dyed by heating are then made to appear on the surface through the discoloration of the layer 2 by reheating.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
