FILAMENT NONWOVEN FABRIC, ITS PRODUCTION, BASE CLOTH FOR TUFTED CARPET AND TUFTED CARPET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject nonwoven fabric composed of continuous thermoplastic resin filaments, having a specific dry-heat shrinkage, exhibiting excellent dimensional stability and resistance to curling and warpage in backing process and useful as a base cloth for tufted carpet having high quality. ;SOLUTION: The objective nonwoven fabric is composed of continuous filaments of a thermoplastic resin consisting of a high-melting component such as polyethylene terephthalate and a low-melting component having a melting point lower than that of the high-melting component by ≥20°C such as a copolymerized polyester wherein the continuous filaments are bonded with each other by the melting and solidification of the low-melting component. The lateral dry-heat shrinkage of the nonwoven fabric measured in conformity to JIS L 1906 is within the range of -10% to 0%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
