PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fuel amount from being different in each cylinder caused by delivery pulsation generated by a cam driving type fuel pump. ;SOLUTION: In a cylinder injection type internal combustion engine, a high pressure fuel pump consists of a cam driving type fuel pump for sucking and delivering fuel by reciprocation-driving a plunger 53 which is slidably arranged in a pump housing 52 by driving a cam, and is provided with a first delivery part 25L for delivering fuel at a first delivery timing, and a second delivery part 25R for delivering fuel at a second delivery timing having a desired phase difference Φ between the first delivery timing and the second delivery timing. A fuel injection valve consists of a first injection valve group in which fuel is supplied at the first delivery timing and which is branched in the downstream of a high pressure pump, and a second injection valve group in which fuel is supplied at a second delivery timing. In the number Y of cam crests of a cam part 58, Y×J=K/4 is satisfied in the relation to a pump speed reduction ratio J and the number K of cylinders of an engine, and Φ/J=720/k is satisfied in a phase difference Φ(°).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
