MANUFACTURE OF DEFORMED STRIP AND DEFORMED METAL PLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain deformed strips having high quality and different thickness in the width direction by mutually combining at least two strips or metal plates having different widths by rolling/bonding. SOLUTION: The oxide layer on the surface of strips faceing each other is removed by fuzzing with brushing or pickling just before rolling/bonding, and then the close combination having the desired layer thickness is executed by the deformation having film rolling/bonding. The deformation ratio of about 60% is applied to the strip, and rolling/bonding having the uniform combination of material is obtained between the narrow strip 1' reduced thickness and the wide strip 2' reduced thickness. The deformation ratio is required to be the same for two strips. Although rolling/bonding is allowed to apply to the same alloy, the combination between different alloys or different materials, e.g. copper and aluminum is allowed for the plate-like deformed body consisting of the deformed strip or the deformed metal plate and having different thickness in the width direction, if necessary.
