PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to investigate the cause of a problem without technical knowledge about gathered data and to shorten an analysis time by automatically generating and displaying a communication diagram representing the exchange of communication between computers based on the analytic data on a time base with an arrow line. SOLUTION: A fault analyzing tool 22 is mounted on a display machine 21. Data gathering tools 103 and 113 gather communication logs and operation state logs on a client machine 101 and a server machine 111. The fault analyzing tool 22 automatically generates the communication diagram by drawing arrow lines by a display machine 21 corresponding to respective packets included in the communication log files 5 and 15 gathered by the machines 101 and 111, and automatically generates a system operation state by matching use states of resources included in the operation state log files 6 and 16 to the time base on the same screen of the communication diagram. Then those are displayed on a graphic terminal 23.
