PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the driving force of a four-wheel drive vehicle without impairing its running stability. ;SOLUTION: A driving-force controller, which is used for a four-wheel drive vehicle where the output torque of an engine 6 is distributed by way of a center, a front and a rear differential gear 10C, 10F and 10R to the four wheels FL, FR, RL and RR, comprises a hydraulic circuit 40 adapted to pressurize the braking devices of the wheels in response to external commands, and an ECU 20 for detecting differences in turning speed between the wheels on the basis of signals from the wheel-speed sensors provided for the respective wheels and applying braking force to the wheels through its output of commands to the hydraulic circuit 40 to thereby suppress the turning-speed differences. The ECU 20 is adapted to preferentially suppress a turning-speed difference between the left and the right rear wheels RL and RR that has simultaneously occurred with a turning-speed difference between the left and the right front wheels FL and FR. The vehicle is thus preferentially prevented from oversteering and the driving force thereof is improved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
