PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently transmit energy by an explosion to a piston by arranging two kinds of valves and air ports of a valve and an air port which open in the upper dead center and close in the lower dead center in intake stroke time and a valve and an air port which open in the lower dead center and close before the upper dead center in compression stroke. ;SOLUTION: For example, when a piston valve is used in a 4-cycle engine, an intake valve 1 exclusive to an air-fuel mixture and an exhaust valve 2 are provided. A valve 3 which opens in the upper dead center and closes in the lower dead center in intake stroke and a valve 4 which opens in the lower dead center and closes before the upper dead center in compression stroke, are provided. A valve 4 which opens in the lower dead center and closes before the upper dead center at compression stroke time, as a measure against excessively opening time, and an air exclusive valve 5 which opens before becoming rotational resistance when it excessively expands and closes in the lower ded center at expansion stroke time, are also provided. By this constitution, the ratio of (the compression ratio the expansion ratio) becomes high, and an expansion stroke can be smoothly performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
