HEAD STRUCTURE OF NON-NUCLEAR FUEL CORE COMPONENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance operating efficiency by using one kind of handling tool in handling a non-nuclear fuel core component taken out from a core during replacement of the fuel of a pressurized water reactor and reduce the manufacturing cost of the non-nuclear fuel core component. SOLUTION: In a burnable-poison rod assembly having a hollow hub member 51, radial vane members 53, 57 extending radially outwards from the outer peripheral surface of the hollow hub member 51, and burnable-poison rods that hang down with their upper ends passed through mounting holes 59 formed in the vane members 53, 57 in such a way as to be parallel to the central axis of the hollow hub member 51, the head of the assembly has an engagement space 61 formed above the inside of the hollow hub member 51 and has a pressure spring 65 and a pressure retainer 67 both built inside its lower part, with the vane members 53, 57 formed into plate shapes having horizontal upper edges on which nuts fitted around the upper ends of the burnable poison rods are placed. The nuts fitted around the burnable poison rods located in the radially innermost and outermost positions are formed into shell shapes.
