PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the opening area of a new window frame by forming the inner circumferential surface of the window frame in a flat surface, installing the new window frame onto the flat surface and integrally mounting a throating frame and indoor-outdoor reinforcing frames on the new window frame or the existing window frame. ;SOLUTION: The upper and lower frames 2a, 2b of the existing window frame 2 and the inner circumferential surfaces of left-right vertical frames are formed in flat surfaces 7. On the other hand, the upper and lower frames 8a, 8b, vertical frames and throating frame 9 of the new window frame 8 and outdoor reinforcing frames 10-16 are produced beforehand in a factory. The mounting plate section 23 of the upper frame 8a is installed on the upper frame 2a and an indoor reinforcing frame 13 to a wooden window stool section 36 by a screw 35. A hung piece section 29 is mounted on the outdoor side face of the lower frame 2b. The indoor reinforcing frame 16 is annexed to the upright section 38 of an indoor-side rail section 28, and these upright section 38 and indoor reinforcing frame 16 are set up on the lower frame 2b. The throating frame 9 is fitted to the hung piece section 29. The mounting sections of the left-right vertical frames are installed on the existing vertical frames and the indoor reinforcing frame is mounted on the window stool 36. Lastly, a 'shoji' screen 45 and a wire screen 46 are fitted. Accordingly, watertightness is improved, no sealing work is required, and workability can be enhanced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
