PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and efficiently evaluate an elastic modulus or stability on the slope of bedrock. ;SOLUTION: The surface of bedrock is measured while utilizing a heat infrared imaging system, further, nearby weather is measured and after measurement, air temperature, wind velocity and solar radiation quantity data are inputted to the heat balance model of a bedrock surface layer. While changing the heat inertia value of bedrock, a change of temperature on the surface of bedrock is calculated, heat inertia suited to the measured surface temperature is calculated back and from this heat inertia, the Young's modulus of bedrock is found by a porous body model. Then, digging analysis is performed by a finite element method(FEM) or the like while using the resulting Young's modulus, and local destruction or entire destruction is checked.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
