PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, which surely indicates the concentration of the specified gas present in gas mixture containing interference gas securely. ;SOLUTION: The sensor signal at the first temperature is compared with the first threshold value. When the sensor signal is lower than the threshold value, the above described process is repeated. When the sensor signal is higher than the threshold value, the sensor temperature is increased. The corresponding sensor signals are detected at two different time points. The ratio from two sensor signals is compared with the second threshold value. When the ratio is lower than the threshold value, the initial process is started again. When the ratio is higher than the threshold value, it is regarded that CH4 is present.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
