PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the operating threshold value of a solid microlaser and to raise the pumping efficiency of the solid microlaser by a method wherein a microlaser cavity is provided with a solid active medium, an input mirror and the like and the solid microlaser is provided with a cavity pumping means having at least a direct-axis cavity semiconductor laser. ;SOLUTION: A microlaser cavity 50 is constituted of an input mirror 52, an output mirror 54 and an active medium. The cavity 50 is pumped by a direct- axis cavity semiconductor layer 56. The laser 56 is constituted of a substrate 58, an input mirror 60, an output mirror 62 and an active region 64. The laser 56 emits a beam in the direction arranged within microlaser cavity axes AA' in the vertical direction to the region 64.
