NEW MATERIAL:A gene fragment having a DNA sequence coding a stationary region of a feline immunoglobulin kappa chain expressed by formula, etc. USE:Production of mouse X cat chimera antibody for the diagnosis, remedy and prevention of viral diseases of cat. PREPARATION:The objective gene fragment coding the stationary region of feline immunoglobulin kappa chain can be produced e.g. by separating chromosome DNA from feline hepatocyte by conventional process, cutting the DNA with restriction enzyme, developing the fragments on 0.7% agarose gel by electrophoresis, transferring to a nitrocellulose membrane filter, subjecting to Southern hydridization with [32P]-labeled DNA probe containing human Ckappa region, separating a fragment forming a single band of 5.5 kb, bonding the fragment to a vector to prepare a kappa-chain gene library and screening the library by conventional method.
