PURPOSE:To satisfy various organism compatibilities by providing a synthetic polymer consisting of a repeating unit expressed by a specified structural formula on the surface of the material. CONSTITUTION:This organism-compatible medical material has a synthetic polymer consisting of a repeating unit expressed by the formula on its surface and is used in contact with the living tissue and body fluid, and an alkoxyalkyl (meth)acrylate is exemplified as the constituent. In the formula, R1 is 1-4C alkylenes, R2 is 1-4C alkyls, and R3 is H or CH3. The homopolymer or copolymer of at least one monomer among alkoxyalkyl (meth)acrylates or the copolymer of the alkoxyalkyl (meth)acrylate and the monomer copolymerizable with the (meth)acrylate is exemplified as the polymer. When the material comes into contact with the blood, body fluid and living tissue, the blood platelets are not stuck or activated so much, the activation of the complement is insignificant, and further the affinity for the living tissue is excellent.
