The twisting laying method of self-supporting cable

PURPOSE:To safely twist and lay a self-supporting cable by mounting a drum for feeding the cable on a rotatable base, feeding the cable while rotating, and extending it by a messenger wire between poles. CONSTITUTION:A drum 3 in which a self-supporting cable 20 is wound is placed on a rotatable base 7. The base 7 is rotated while pulling out the cable 20 through a pulley 9 at the end of an arm 8 by a messenger wire 1, thereby twisting the cable 20 circumferentially. In order to hold twisting, a special snatch block 10 is mounted at the top of each pole 4 to pass the cable 20. The block 10 is, for example, provided with an inner wheel guide 11 made of a material having small frictional coefficient on the inner surface of the block to be swingable as indicated by arrows. A plurality of spheres 13 are held by a holder 12 to pivot freely on the inner surface of the block. Thus, dangerous twisting and inserting works at a high place are eliminated to efficiently perform a safe cable extension work.
