PURPOSE: To extend an addressable logical track data storage capacity by allowing a manifolding means to establish plural groups consisting of prescribed physical tracks as a single logical track. ;CONSTITUTION: A controller 11 is connected with plural device controllers DC 12 to 15 to control data storing disk devices 20 to 27. The devices 20, 22, 24 and 26 of the even numbers of these data storage disks constitute a first device group and the devices 21, 23, 25 and 27 of the odd numbers constitute a second device group to be used at the same time as the first device group. Then the manifolding means connected to each device establishes the given plural groups consisting of the prescribed physical tracks as a single logical track.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
