This procedure is characterised by the fact that a jamming transmitter arranged on the ship emits at least temporarily only short-wave IR radiation, the beam intensity of the jamming transmitter being set in such a manner that the ratio between short-wave and medium-wave IR radiation is shifted in such a manner that the ship cannot be reliably detected as a target for the dual-frequency IR homing head.
