PURPOSE: To obtain a composition capable of coloring in dark colors with low toxicity, by combining a p-phenylenediamine derivative containing a primary, secondary or tertiary amine with m-phenylenediamine and optionally a p-aminophenol derivative or an m-aminophenol derivative. ;CONSTITUTION: This oxidation dyeing composition for keratinous fibers such as hair is obtained by using a p-phenylenediamine derivative of formula I [R₃ and R₄ are each (CH₂)_n-OH and when (n) is 2-4, R₁ and R₂ are each H, when R₁ is isopropyl, R₂ to R₄ are each H, etc.] (first oxidation dye precursor), a m-phenylenediamine derivative of formula II (R₆ is H, an alkyl, etc.; R₇ is H, an alkyl, etc.; R₈ is H or an alkyl; R₉ is an alkoxy, an aminoalkoxy, etc.) (first coupling agent) and a p-aminophenol derivative of formula III (R₁₀ is an alkyl, etc.) (oxidation dye precursor) or a m-aminophenol derivative of formula IV (R₁₁ is an alkyl, etc.) (second coupling agent).
