PURPOSE:To prevent peripheral foundations from collapse in case of excavation by forming a gravity type retaining wall-like earth structure with stirred and mixed a foundation hardening agent such as cement in the foundation outside an excavated region. CONSTITUTION:An earth structure 1 is formed by rotating a rotary shaft provided on its lower end with a stirring blade in the foundation while discharging a foundation hardening agent such as cement from a discharge port in the lower end of the rotary shaft into the foundation to stir and mix the foundation earth and foundation hardening agent. The shape and size of the section and the mixing rate of the foundation hardening agent are determined such that the earth structure is safe from stress generated in the interior thereof by earth pressure or the like acting on the rear face while being safe from slip and turning-upside-down. Thus, even if the excavation region and depth are respectively wide and deep, a preferred retaining wall can be built.
