There is proposed a laminated multilayer film substrate in the form of a security token, such as a bank note, with a first layer (a) and a second layer (b), each comprising at least 50 weight percent of a high density polyethylene having a density of at least 0.95, and each being oriented in at least a first direction to a degree which is at least three times greater than the degree of orientation in a second direction normal to said first direction, (b) being laminated to (a) so that the first direction of orientation of (b) is normal to the first direction of orientation of (a), and with an optically-variable device positioned between (a) and (b).
