The invention relates to a drug carrier which comprises particles of lipid or lipid-like (lipoid)material or mixtures thereof which have a diameter of 10 nm to 10 µm and which are solid atroom temperature. On account of its solid core, the drug carrier allows a controllable liberationof active substances over a longer period of time and the incorporation of hydrophilousmedicinal agents into the solid core. Furthermore, the drug carrier makes a relatively quickdegrading possible at which no toxic by-products are produced.
