ELECTRONIC INFUSION DEVICE AND NOVEL ROLLER CLAMP HOLDER THEREFOR

This invention is an improved electronic infusion device(EID) which employs a novel system for preventing dangerous, wideopen, gravity flow ("free flow") when an intravenous (IV)administration set is removed from the EID. This novel free flowprevention system is the only one able to work with standardgravity IV sets, without requiring any special IV set componentsto accomplish its task. It's also the only system that interactswith the IV sets' roller clamp, forcing the user to close theroller clamp before being able to unlock the EID's peristalticpump mechanism to remove the IV set.
