FIELD: space and aerial photography, mapping of surface of the Earth and other planets, aerophotogeological studies and creation of sand-box models, engineering and construction studies. SUBSTANCE: method determining height of object above plane of base by its singular perspective image with unknown elements of external and internal orientation includes photography of section of locality including examined object, measurement of coordinates of reference points and lateral and longitudinal coordinates of top of this object in photograph and on map of locality. Information required for determination of height is obtained by means of measurement of coordinates of additional reference points and calculation of orientation parameters of photograph. Height of object is calculated by formulas with due account of height of center of projection. EFFECT: improved authenticity of determination of height of object.
