FIELD: experimental aerodynamics. SUBSTANCE: temperature and pressure of working gas are increased in advance to entropy S1, then gas is throttled with increase of entropy to S0 corresponding to deceleration parameters. After throttling working gas is adiabatically compressed to deceleration parameters and released through nozzle. Device for implementation of process has receiver, start-up/cutoff valve, two boosters securing adiabatic compression of gas and nozzle. Boosters are connected through shut-off unit, throttle and check valve arranged in series. Cowper heater raises temperature of gas coming into booster from receiver. In versions of device gas is heated at outlet from booster or inside its small cylinder. EFFECT: starting reserve of working gas increased at high temperatures and pressures of deceleration by more than one order, raised deceleration temperature or diminished dimensions of device with maintenance of mass of working gas. 4 cl, 3 dwg
