The inner (1) or outer bearing face (2) is mounted onto a retaining cylindrical face, worked in a basic material, with the face provided with a scrapable cover material (4), which is solid and lighter than the fabric material. Prior to, or during, the inner or outer face mounting the cover material is removed. Pref. the removal prior to the inner or outer face mounting is carried out by a tool in a mechanical, thermal, or chemical process. The mechanical removal may be carried out by a cutter shaped on, or coupled to the face.
