Insects - an attractant - the case in the trapping of flying insects, in particular of the bark beetle

The insect trap comprises a hollow body (1) formed by a foil tube held by tension frames (2) which connect the other parts of the trap and can be used to extend the length of the hollow body. The hollow tube has punched openings over its entire surface which open out when the tube is stretched by the tension frame and hung up. In the useful position the wall of the hollow tube, with punched teeth (8), curves concave (9) above the punched opening and convex (10), below it, so that in plan view the openings become elliptical. The inside of the hollow tube has slide faces. A selective net whose mesh width depends on the size of the insects to be trapped is attached in the top area of the funnel (5) which is provided at the bottom end of the tube. The wall of the tube and collecting funnel can be made of plastics foils or paper with a one- sided plastics coating.
