A sport jacket for mountain walkers has a weather proofing opening (3) in both halves of the front side (A). The openings (3) run vertically and in parallel to the main slide fastener (2) and can be opened and closed by means of slide fasteners (4) or similar devices. When an opening (3) is undone, the ends of the safety loop of the climbing belt/breast belt can be pushed through to the right and to the left through the openings (3). The jacket can be closed completely and the ends of the safety loop knitted. The carbine of the rope can be hooked into the knotted loop.
