A winding machine having a number of winding stations each comprising two winding arms (6) mounted on a common crossbar (1, 2), and each having an adjusting motor (7) for transverse positioning and a core grip head (8) with a core winding motor (9). A regulating device (10) fitted to each arm controlled by a central control unit serves to actuate the individual winding and adjusting motors (7,9). The supply of power for all the motors (7,9) and preferably also the transmission of the control signals are effected through lines formed by contact bars (12) and which are attached to the crossbar (1), and in sliding contact with the regulating devices (10).
