The connection method allows an element (34) providing part of the signalling device (7) to be connected to an end plate (4) of the fuse insert, using raised elements (19) formed in the surface of the end plate. The element is brought into contact with the end plate adjacent the raised elements, which are then deformed to hold the element in contact with the end plate. The raised elements may be arranged in a ring around the outside of the signalling device element.
