The circuit breaker construction technique has two outer isolating columns (4,6) with rotatable conducting connecting rods (2A,2B). A rotatable central isolating column (5) has two conducting connecting rods which contact the rods from the outer columns. A single rotation mechanism (7) drives the central rod, and through drive rods (9A,9B) the outer isolating columns.
