PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-printer controller controlling the printing operation of plural printers so that total power which the plural connected printers consume does not exceed the current capacity of a supply power system. SOLUTION: CPU 203 of printer engines 131-134 connected to the multi-printer controller 110 monitor the power consumption of fixed heaters by using respective power consumption measuring means 209. The multi-printer controller 110 controls the printing operation of the printer engines 131-134 so that total power which the fixed heaters of the printer engines 131-134 consume does not exceed a prescribed value.
