PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary napkin which can prevent leakage of blood from the rear end of the napkin when a user is sleeping and from the front end when a large quantity of blood is discharged, and which can remove a smell peculiar to the menstruation so that the user can spend days comfortably during the period. ;SOLUTION: Even if the menstrual blood flows toward the back of a user (woman) when the user is sleeping lying on the back, the napkin can securely absorb the blood, preventing leakage from the rear end of the napkin, since no gap is made in the crotch valley with a swelling 1 of the absorbent which closely fits the body. In addition, even when the position of the user's body changes, a swelling 2 of the absorbent closely fits the body and prevents the blood from leaking also from the front end of the napkin.
