HALF-SPLIT CHOPSTICKS AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate all split parts of half-split chopsticks equally by applying a moderate force to each part thereof in use while keeping the parts thereof from being divided under any vibration or the like prior to the use thereof. ;SOLUTION: Half-split chopsticks 1 have split parts 2 and 3 comprising a thermoplastic material such as polypropylene. The split parts 2 and 3 are integrally interlinked at each lengthwise one end part 2a or 3a thereof by a link part in a predetermined fixed area within respective opposed faces 4 and 5. The predetermined fixed areas are selected at positions near the central part between both width-wise end parts of the opposed face 4 and 5 while being deviated in the direction of being isolated from the length-wise other end parts 2b and 3b of the respective split parts 2 and 3, not from the center of the drawing of the respective opposed faces 4 and 5. As a result, when a force is applied to the split parts 2 and 3 in the direction of isolating them from each other, a larger tearing force than that applied on the split parts 2 and 3 is generated at the link part 6 causing the link part 6 to be easily severed thereby enabling separating of the individual split parts 2 and 3 almost equally.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
