PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of activating the photosynthesis and safely improving the contents of vitamins, carotenoids, inorganic substances such as Ca, glucides or the like by including ingredients such as a yeast fungus extracted essence, methionine and electrolytic water containing active oxygen species as active ingredients therein. SOLUTION: This composition for improving food nutrient ingredients contains one or more ingredients selected from the group consisting of (A) a yeast fungus extracted essence, (B) methionine and (C) electrolytic water prepared by electolyzing water or an electrolytic solution and containing active oxygen species as active ingredients. The composition for improving the food nutrient ingredients is preferably directly used or diluted with water so as to provide (i) 0.1-50,000 ppm concentration of the yeast fungus extracted essence expressed in terms of the contained amino acids, (ii) 0.001-10% (wt./vol.) methionine concentration and (iii) 0.1-100% (vol./vol.) electrolytic water and applied to a plant.
