PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the fogging of window glass by restricting a function for charging shortage of coolant and for protective stopping in a condition where engine coolant temperature is lower than a regulatable coolant-stop threshold value, and evaporator temperature is higher than a regulatable evaporator temperature-protection stop threshold value. ;SOLUTION: After operation is started (10), in a reference stage (11) for the time of requiring start of a compressor, whether evaporator temperature TV is higher than a regulatable first evaporator temperature-stop threshold value TV1, or not is detected, and whether engine cooling water temperature TKW is lower than the regulatable cooling water temperature-stop threshold value TKW1, or not is continuously detected. In the case where both the conditions are satisfied, a protective stopping function for compressor is not operated. In the case where a shortage charge-stop discrimination reference exists, a compressor is operated for a short time without generating a damage due to the freeze of evaporator, and fogging of window glasses of vehicle is prevented by sufficient heating of an air flow to be blown into an inner space of vehicle.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
