PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new substances each having an apolipoprotein B production-inhibiting activity and a cardiotonic action and useful as an apolipoprotein B production inhibitor, a cardiac stimulant, etc., by culturing a microorganism belonging to the genus Hamigera. ;SOLUTION: A new cyclic peptide PF1171A Substance or PF1171C substance of formula I (A is 1-methylpropyl, isopropyl), and a new cyclic peptide PF1171B substance, PF1171D substance or PF1171E substance (salt) of formula II (B is isobutyl and D is benzyl, or B and D are isopropyl, respectively, or B is 1-methylpropyl, and D is isobutyl). The compounds each has an apolipoprotein B production-inhibiting activity and a cardiotonic action, and is useful as an apolipoprotein B production inhibitor, a cardiac stimulant, etc. The cyclic peptides are obtained by culturing a microorganism [e.g. Hamigera avellanea (FERM P-16173)] belonging to the genus Hamigera.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
