PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a resistor so as to exclude higher harmonic, by arranging a first and a second semiconductor diodes which are connected in antiparallel constitution with each other and are connected in parallel with a signal source. ;SOLUTION: A compensation semiconductor diode 14 and light source semiconductor diode 12 are connected with an AC signal source 20, in the relation of antiparallel. The light source semiconductor diode 12 and the compensation semiconductor diode 14 contain a bias network having an independent DC bias source isolated from the AC signal source 20. A first bias source 16 provides a DC bias to the light source semiconductor diode 12, and a second bias source 18 provides a DC bias to the compensation semiconductor diode 14. The second bias source 18 provides a reverse bias to the compensation semiconductor diode 14. The above reverse bias can be adjusted by changing the resistance of a variable resistor 34, and higher harmonic distortion can be reduced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
