PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contrive reduction of time for conditioning treatment, simplification of work and work saving by realizing a single step conditioning treatment of a grain stock, further contrive reduction of cost for an apparatus, compact construction of the apparatus and reduction of installation area by constituting a conditioning tank as a single set and suppress propagation of bacteria and microbes to the grain stock. ;SOLUTION: About6% of additional water is added as water for a grain stock having a self-water content of about 9 wt.% and is mixed, and agitation at a vacuum degree of 20-40 Torr is effected and then atmospheric pressure is instantly restored. The additional water is made to penetrate the grain stock quickly on account of this rapid pressure change, and the grain stock thus obtained is allowed to sit for 5-10 hr as to obtain the grain stock having a water content of 14-17% by a single step. By such a method, the grain stock is conditioned so as to be suited for flour milling work. An agitation mechanism such as a screw conveyor or the like is provided in a vacuum water adding treatment apparatus making an inflow system and an outflow system of the grain stock communicate with each other, and further an additional water supply tank, vacuum generator. vacuum relieving device and conditioning tank are connected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
