PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily design the main parts and design elements of a press die only by selection of simple classification of parts and dimensional design about the parts and design elements basically necessary for the press die design, and at the same time to easily, execute design of mounting of parts necessary for the design of other press die. ;SOLUTION: The design of the press die 1 is executed by designing beforehand incorporating parts necessary for the design of the press die 1 and design elements, by equipping a plurality of basic structures beforehand designed corresponding to the external dimensions of the press die 1, by selecting the basic structure corresponding to the external dimension of the press die 1 designed out of a plurality of basic structures, by selecting on a condition indicating the codes of parts in a catalog showing the optimum parts necessary for the press die 1 beforehand designed and incorporated in the basic structure of the selected press die 1, and by newly specifying the classification of parts in the catalog and the design elements against changes of size of parts in company with a modification of design.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
