PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a layout design system for power circuit board which drastically reduces the designation number of signal kinds required in checking, for example, the distance between patterns on a power circuit board. ;SOLUTION: A design check program 10 provided in the layout design system retrieves parts, which are directly or indirectly connected to a designated signal terminal at the time of propagating a primary signal, from on the circuit board expressed with layout design data 11 by parts and pin designation data 12. In the same manner, the program 10 retrieves parts, which are directly or indirectly connected to the designated signal terminal at the time of propagating a secondary signal, and retrieves parts which are directly or indirectly connected to the designated signal terminal at the time of propagating a ground signal. The signal kind of a pattern connecting parts is discriminated based on this retrieval result, and the distance between patterns on the circuit board is checked based on this discrimination result and gap allowable value data 13, and the check result is outputted as check result data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
