PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a surface melting furnace without the interference of operations for accomplishing each of multiple objectives in the controlling system of the surface melting furnace having multiple objectives. ;SOLUTION: Operational status is classified to multiple different operational status patterns in advance, control modes are set corresponding to each of the operational status, the operational status is monitored by detecting the kinds of process value indicating the operational status of the surface melting furnace by the kinds of sensing means, the current operational status patterns are judged based on the detected process value, and the operation is controlled by switching it to the control mode corresponding to the operational status patterns.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
