PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jitter measuring device for the reproduced signal of an optical disk capable of efficiently measuring a jitter component with a simple circuit structure. ;SOLUTION: The matrix circuit of a characteristic inspecting device l feeds the RF signal to an A/D-converting circuit 6. A computer 8 obtains a slice level from the data of the digitized RF signal. The computer 8 obtains the time when the RF signal becomes the predetermined slice level via interpolation based on the digital data at the sample point near this slice level and the sampling frequency of the A/D-converting circuit 6.
