PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for diagnosing, for example, diseases caused, for example, by over-decomposition of synclein-sensitive proteins, by obtaining an appropriate tissue specimen from a patient, determining the presence of synclein using the obtained specimen, followed by comparing the obtained result with a known standard. ;SOLUTION: This method is to diagnose or to determine future possibility to have diseases or troubles such as cancer, neurodegeneration trouble, and skin trouble, which are characterized by over-decomposition or accumulation of synclein-sensitive proteins such as nervous filament protein arid cytokeratin protein, by (1) obtaining an appropriate tissue specimen from a patient, (2) isolating synclein (e.g. persyn) or polynucleotide coding for it to determine the presence of it or to analyze the property of it, (3) comparing synclein or polynucleotide with a known standard, followed by (4) determining presence of relevant difference such as difference in sequence and physical property.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
