INHIBITOR AGAINST CASPASE-ACTIVATED DNASE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new inhibitor comprising a protein having a specific amino acid sequence and an ability for inhibiting caspase-activated DNase, and useful for prevention of cell death by a gene therapy or the like, a reagent for the study of the cell death including apoptosis, or the like. ;SOLUTION: This inhibitor is a new inhibitor against caspase-activated DNase (ICAD) selected from a protein comprising a long chain or a short chain having amino acid sequences of formulas I or II respectively and having inhibitory activities against caspase-activated DNase, and a protein comprising an amino acid sequence of the formulas I and II having the deficiency, substitution and/or insertion of one or plural amino acids and having the inhibitory activities against caspase-activated DNase, and is useful for prevention of cell death by a gene therapy or the like, a reagent for the study of the cell death including apoptosis, or the like. The inhibitor is obtained by screening a cDNA library of mouse T cell lymphoma, and expressing the obtained ICAD cDNA by a recombinant technique.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
