PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet to stably support a rotary body and a rest body in a noncontact state by utilizing magnetic force. ;SOLUTION: Two permanent magnets 10A and 10B the whole of which is formed in a conical trapezoidal cylindrical shape and formed of a magnetic substance are used. A magnetic pole on the outer and inner peripheral surfaces of one permanent magnet 10A and a magnetic pole on the outer and inner peripheral surfaces of the other permanent magnets 10B are mutually reversed. The two permanent magnets 10A and 10B are arranged in a state to axially approach each other such that expanding directions are the same direction to each other. By the repulsion forces of the two permanent magnets 10A and 10B, the other permanent magnet 10B is supported in a floating state by one permanent magnet 10A. The other permanent magnet 10B is supported in a noncontact state by one permanent magnet 10A without the occurrence of a slip between the two permanent magnets 10A and 10B.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
