PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chord detector featuring good operability. ;SOLUTION: The chord detector is provided with a condition setting button. When this button is clicked, a condition setting screen is displayed. Either of the conditions to 'impart the detected harmonic progression to playing data' which imparts the detected harmonic progression immediately to the playing data or to 'merely present the detected harmonic progression' which merely presents the detected harmonic progression is selectable on this screen. As a result, a user is eventually able to determine the harmonic progression while making the comparison of the previous harmonic progression and the freshly detected harmonic progression when the harmonic progression is imparted to the playing data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
