PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make retrieval easy by preparing a uniform resource locator(URL) of a summary page for a homepage and establishing a database for the same. ;SOLUTION: This homepage summary page preparing device for a WWW server A retrieves a variety of homepages registered in the WWW server by a homepage retrieval means (S1) and extracts a title of each homepage, which the homepage retrieval means retrieves with a URL extraction means, and the URL (S2). Moreover, an industry classification code of a registrar of the homepage is assigned by an industry classification code assignment means (S4), and the title of the above-mentioned homepage and the URL which the URL extraction means extracts and information including the industry classification code the industry classification code assignment means assigns are prepared as a summary page of a specified format and registered with the WWW server (S4 and S5).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
