PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Japanese input device suitably used for inputting Japanese words while reducing the number of input keys without increasing input work and complicating selection, an electronic equipment having Japanese input part, and a medium recording Japanese input control program. In a step S43, the English characters of high utilization frequency are singly allocated to the input keys so that the higher the utilization frequency is, the less the KANA characters generated by a character generating means can not be generated while being overlapped when inputting Japanese words while utilizing such an input means. Thus, KANJI candidates to be generated by a KANJI mixed character string generating means while referring to the indexes of the dictionary can be reduced.
