PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To edit digital data on a moving picture by providing an editing table to take in and store position data which is read and given break word data. ;SOLUTION: When a moving picture data reproduction part 2 reproduces digital moving picture data into a prescribed moving picture file, a reproduced picture is reproduced out a picture display part. An editing key is clicked on at first and an editing generation mode is selected. Then, regular reproduction starts. Data showing a present reproduction position is sent from a moving picture data reproduction part 2 to a break position deciding part 3 during reproduction. When a bookmarker is to be inserted here, a bookmarker setting key is operated by using a mouse being an operation part 8 when a scene to be inserted appears. Then, a pause key is automatically depressed and the moving picture temporarily stops. Position information at that time is taken in by the break position decision part 3 and it is stored in the editing table.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
