PARTIAL RESONANCE SERIES CONVERTER WITH IMPROVED WAVEFORM FACTOR AND REDUCED ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partial resonance converter which maintains advantages related to a simple series resonance converter while its form factor and efficiency are improved and its EMI(electromagnetic interference) is reduced. SOLUTION: A whole tank circuit includes at least a 1st inductor L2 and a 1st capacitor C1 which are connected in series to each other, a 2nd capacitor C2 which is connected in parallel to a load circuit and a 2nd inductor L3 which is connected in parallel to the 2nd capacitor in order to provide a voltage boosting capability. In addition to the reduction of dv/dt in the load circuit, the 2nd capacitor guides a current which has the effect of reducing the waveform factor of a supplied current so as to reduce EMI related to the sudden initial rise of a current at the time of the turning-on of a next switching device by finishing a reverse current applied to the reverse parallel diode of one switching device by the turning-on of the next switching device.
